This is a 2011 NCDBS Meet

NCDBS Meet NCDBS  Northern California Dodge Brothers and Sisters is a group of people who love and own vintage Dodge Brothers and Graham Brothers vehicles. Our group is located in Northern California. We promote Dodge Brothers vehicles and Grahman Brothers trucks in our everday life.

The NCDBS took 5 cars to the Steam Up this year. Although we were outnumbered by the Model A Club of Sonoma, the NCDBS generated much more interest. It appears that the Model A car itself has become so common place, that patrons did not pay particular attention to these cars. It almost felt that "seen one seen them all" was the attitude during this particular event. However, the few cars that the NCDBS Region displayed at this event, the variation in DB cars was obvious. On display was a rusty 1925 DB touring car without top but it is a runner, a 1930 straight 8 coupe with dual side mounted tires, a 1927 Roadster, a 1927 fully restored Touring car and an award winning 1923 Commercial/Business Screenside truck. Many of the patrons came by to take close inspection of the variation of cars offered by the NCDBS Region. We did a good job in our show and shine requirement.

All of the stationery engines were in operation along with one of the engines from the Spruce Goose. The gigantic 6 cylinder Fairbanks Morse engine was fired up several times during the day along with the engine of the Spruce Goose. This museum is a display of antique and older equipment in operation. The Museum is privately funded and is somewhat small and compact although there are many exhibits to see. The interior building is packed full of memorabilia from the early 1900's and one could spend many minutes just investigating those displays. The NCDBS Region has been part of this Steam Up for a number of years as a static display for patrons to observe these Dodge Brothers vehicles.

A 1923 Screenside Commercial/Business Car driven by Donn Marinovich of Columbia.

A 1927 Touring car. This 4 seater was driven by Roger Gong of Mountain View.

A 1927 Roadster. This 2-seater was driven to the museum by Tom Barham of Pleasant Hills.

This 1930 Straight 8 Coupe is in it's final stages of restoration. It was driven by Amil Gehrke of Petaluma.

This 1925 Touring Car was the recipient of the President Award at the Woodland National DB Meet.

Below are a few of the antique pieces of equipment throughout the museum. A number of the pieces are external, while a number are also internal to the museum building itself.

This is a Hicks heavy duty Marine Gas Engine.

The Fairbanks Morse direct injection diesel 2 cycle engine. It generates 480 HP at 300 rpm. This engine displaces 15,600 cubic inches and develops 7,800 ft.-lbs. of torque at 300 rpm and weighs in at 70,000 pounds. It was used in a plywood factory in the town of Orleans, California.

This Corliss 5 HP single cylinder engine is 1 of 2 known to be in existence today. It was manufactured by the Levalal Dairy Supply Company of San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

This is just part of the George Stum razor blade collection.

Here we see a 1923 Thor Washing Machine.

Here is a picture of the stern of the boat. The engine has not been installed and although this mahogany boatg was manufactured at the Dodge Brothers marine works, the original engine was by Lycoming.

So we wind up another year of the Steam Up. It is of interest to see and many antique objects are available for a person to examine at length, something all of the NCDBS members did - aside from volunteering to prepare the entire site for this Steam Up. Both Amil Gehrke and Donn Marinovich were volunteers during the week preceding the opening of the Museum to ensure everything was in its place and a place for every exhibit.
