The NCDBS Annual Kick-Off Picnic and Planning session was held on March 29 at the Amador Community Park. It was a beautiful day and the Monarch Butterflies were in "hatch" as literally thousdands were flying northward by the gentle breeze during our picnic. The main group of DB'ers began to arrive at 12:30 and set to work preparing the area for the picnic. Those present (no digipix this year) were as follows: The Barhams (Tom, Sharon, Travis with Julia Fischer), the Boones (Herman and Barbara), the Coopers (Larry and Gwen), Amil Gehrke, the Gongs (Tom, Elaine, Roger, Lynne, Leah and Steve Keiser), the Johnson's (Joe and Maria), the Marinovichs (Donn and Sherrin Grout), the Reeds (Jim and Francene),the Stadelhofers (Gene and Vicky), George Stum, and the Vincents (Bob and Timber). After filling ourselves with a plethora of varied foods, a planning a business meeting was held regarding the 2009 Tour Season. Donn Marinovich handed out the 2009 Schedule of Events and A registration form for the National Meet being held at Keizer, Oregon on July 20 to the 25th. Tom Barham reiterated the list of Tours and Events to elict any questions. Want Ads and Selling items were discussed with Ginny Belcher putting up Gil Belchers 1927 long bed Screenside for sale. A moment of silence was held for Tom Barhams dad who passed away a couple of weekends ago. Also a moment of silence was held for Ray Kwappenberg who passed away in December of 2008. Additional time was spent on interacting with all of the members and a plea to join us with or without a running DB. We can usually find "seats" for everyone who shows up to one of our events. So come in modern iron if you have to, but do come to the events!!
