NCDBS 2009 4th July Event

NCDBS Northern California Dodge Brothers and Sisters is a group of people who love and own vintage Dodge Brothers and Graham Brothers vehicles. Our group is located in Northern California. We promote Dodge Brothers vehicles and Grahman Brothers trucks in our everday life.

The 4th of July fell on Saturday this year. All of the attendees began to gather at the Stadelhofer's about 7:30 a.m. in the morning. There were 9 cars this year for the parade. We had Gene and Vicki Stadelhofer's 1918 Touring car, Herman and Barbara Boone's 1935 KC pickup, Mike and Suzette Sordello's 1922 Touring car, Amil Gehrke's 1927 Touring car, Tom and Sharon Barham's 1926 4 door sedan, Arnie Gehrke's 1925 untouched touring car, Roger and Lynne Gong's 1925 Screenside, Travis and Julie Barham (with Jennifer Barham) 1924 Touring car and Tom and Elaine Gong's 1935 Coupe. This year we did not stage at the San Ramon Valley High School parking lot since it was being repaired. We staged at the Church across the street. All of the cars were decorated beautifully and festooned with the red, whit and blue colors and flags. The parade route was run without incident, although the Travis Barham Touring car did have a few backfires, these were overcome by being hauled through the end of parade by Tom Barham. Once out of the stop and go parade route, the 1924 Touring car was able to make it back to the Stadelhofer's under its own power. Once returning to the Stadelhofer's, Gene proceeded to grill hot dogs and polish sausages and hamburgers. With everyone bringing in a pot luck, there was plenty of food to go around. There was an announcement from Tom Barham regarding the fall tour. This tour will now be known as the Around Mount Diablo tour, since it will essentially be a complete circuit around Mount Diablo, beginning at the Stadelhofer's as tour headquarters. It is estimated that the first day will cover about 60 miles and end up in Tracy, with an overnight stay. The next day will cover about 50 miles and will return to the Stadelhofer's as a staging area. Roger Gong distributed the letter from Galt and enlisted people to attend with their cars since the parking for the Northern California Dodge Brothers and Sisters organization will be reserved under the large walnut trees. There were no more inputs for the good of the order and the 4th of July parade and festivities was officially completed.
